Call For Proposals

 

Hyper fixated on something? Have a special interest? Out of people to force to listen to you talk about a niche topic? Write to us about it! Lacuna is accepting proposals for Limited Series. 

 

What is a Limited Series? 

For Lacuna, a Limited Series is a series of blog style posts from one or more author(s) focused on a specific theme or topic. Limited series have three lengths and formats (other lengths or formats would need to be outlined in the writer’s proposal and are subject to editorial approval): 1-Month Series w/ weekly posts, 2-Month Series w/ bi-weekly posts, and 3-Month Series w/ bi-weekly posts. 

 

Prospective authors will need to provide a proposal for their series. Upon approval authors will need to provide completed posts/well developed drafts for each planned post before the limited series is announced. The Editorial team at Lacuna will work with you to create writing deadlines, finalize your posts, and anything else that you need while writing the series!

 

After the conclusion of a limited run the collection will be made available as a mini pdf on the Lacuna website under the “Limited Series” tab. These pdfs are free to download or view on the website and act as a central location for interested parties to read the series in one place (a binge read, if you will).

Proposal Guidelines

 

• Proposed title of limited series

• Author(s) for the series

• Clearly define your topic/subject. What information are you hoping to explore with this limited series? What are you wanting to impart on your readers?

• Identify your target audience. Who are you hoping to reach with this series? Who is your imagined reader?

• Understand the context. What is the current discussion, if any, around your topic/subject? What is the relevant background information we need to know?

• Specifications. How long will your limited series run? How many posts are you planning to write? Please include a list of proposed topics and titles, as well as a writing sample of one of your proposed posts. We want to see how this series might look!

• Attach any relevant documents or images to support your series, or that will be used alongside your posts. Your author bio should be included in this section.
