Crawling ever upwards
to once again be burned,
To beg for consumption-
From the only god to ever
love me back.
Ebony baptisms (again, again)
strip the hungry flesh
and flay the famished mind
to drown the core,
existing only in the dreams of many.
The prayers of a beggar
escape cracked and desperate lips,
Joyous singing in cleansing pain;
Amen (again, again) amen.
(again and again) Amen.
